SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED...

NEW GRANDBABY!!

Maggie Elizabeth, born November 6, 2008 Chelsea and Greg named her Maggie after her great-great grandmother Maggie Allen, and Elizabeth after her great-grandmother Elizabeth Neerings. I'm just the grandma so no name after me!

Emily, Leah, and sister Candice patiently waiting! It was really neat to have Emily and Leah there too since they have all grown up together and have been friends since preschool. Candice got to be there too which was really cool for her since she is expecting a boy in May (yep, I'm getting a grandson!), my mom was also there and that was especially neat since there were 4 generations in the room when Maggie was born!

Proud, emotional Auntie Kitty (Candice)

Proud big sis Abby!

A Day at the Park

On sunday, October 5, we walked down to the park
to feed the ducks. Such a beautiful day.

Why I can't loose weight:

I'm doing it wrong! Apparently this is the correct way:

IT'S BEEN 3 YEARS

since Cameron's liver transplant. We waited 2 years on "the list". His doctor told us he would not see his 16th birthday without a new liver. Look at him now. Seventeen! Abby was just a baby then and thanks to the hugely generous and unselfish decision of the donor's family, she has gotten to know her Uncle Buddy and they are great pals! You don't think about being a donor until someone you love is waiting for a new chance at life. Think about it--and let your family know you want to be a donor so they can pass on the gift of life to someone else. (A little plug there) We love you Bud!

What the.......!?

This is a picture I took at work on friday. It is a man. Yes, that's right, a man! I was sitting at our "greeter station" and in walked a man in a blond wig dressed as a woman-wearing a white tank top with a short blue mini skirt and long white stockings that went clear up to just below the skirt (yep). And to top it off he had on clear high heel sandals! (And a beer belly.) My mouth just fell open as a I watched him clomp across the lobby up to the teller line. Wow. He never cracked a smile so I don't know if it was a joke or he is really ill. But wow did it make my day. The entire room fell dead silent except for the stiffled giggles that turned into full out hysteria once he walked back out the door! (Good thing he didn't drop his keys, if ya know what I mean!)

About TWILIGHT...

I'm afraid to post this commentary 'cause I'm afraid I'll be hunted down and stoned to death by all the Twilight fans. I am currenty finishing the 4th book. I resisted reading the series strictly based on the aversion I had to the whole "vampire" thing and because I was sure the idea was idiotic. Out of sheer resignation, I partook and began reading Twilight. I must admit that the non-vampire parts of Edward are really appealing (very appealing). But Bella bugs me. I'll tell you why later. This being said, I can't put the books down! I have to keep reading because I am hooked and have to see what happens. Dang that Stephanie Meyers!
I must add that I have a lot of issues with this story strictly because the author is Mormon. I see a lot of suggested morals but that is about it. I am forcing myself to finish the fourth book just because I want to see how this mess of a "love story" cleans up (and because I really like Edward-tell you why later). I may come back and comment after I finish the series. Until then...don't hate me!

Finally!

My camera was broken for months and then after I finally got it fixed, I couldn't remember how to load the pictures on my PC, then I couldn't find them after I got them loaded, then I had a dickens of a time getting them on this blog, then.....well now you know why I don't blog!!! Anyway.....

4th of July: Abby with her cousin Braden at Tumbleweed park. Aren't they so cute?!

Aaahhhhh! I think this is Candice and Jared's first 4th of July as a married couple.

Chelsea and Greg (and baby number 2!)

Abby and Joey taking a nap on the kitchen floor.

Candice's 20th Birthday Bash

July 29th: we had a little birthday dinner with the family...

I think Jared liked the ice cream gift certificate I gave her!

Happy Birthday HPD! Love, MOM!

PS: You'll have to ask her what HPD means...

Christian the Lion

So for all of you who regularly make fun of me for my love of the animal kingdom, check out the following link about a lion cub who was rescued by two men and later released in Africa. This is a video of their reuinion a year later: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv4Sia94Cu8&feature=related (yep, I cried!)

Who Cares?

So, I'm thinking I am going to remove my blog since only 4 people actually look at it. Plus, I think I'm a little too old anyway (just a little). And the only thing I have to post is stuff about my dogs and that just makes me look idiotic and wierd. So, to the 4 of you....thanks and good night!

Back in the Slammer!

It's been almost three years since Cameron's liver transplant. I still can't believe we got through it. We haven't been back to San Diego since until two weeks ago. He had some complications but he's back on track.

This is the LITTLE airplane they flew us there in!

Since I was literally stuck there at the hospital with no car I sometimes sat outside on the front lawn of the hospital just to get some air. San Diego does smell good.

While sitting there I looked up and this was my view.

And then I looked down and saw this little flower growing in the grass.
Yes! I was bored!!!
(But I didn't even cry once this time)
PS One of my fillings fell out of my tooth while I was there too. Still didn't cry.

Wish I Knew Then What I Know Now

I'm 42. In my head I still feel 19. I look at my kids and I wonder where did all the time go? I can't believe it. Yesterday I was a young mom struggling to find sanity in my life. Now....well let's be honest, I am still trying to find it! As I flip through all the cute blogs out there the ones about the "young moms" seem to get my attention the most. It seems like a phase of your life that is never-ending-then you blink your eyes and it's over. To all the young moms out there I say soak up every living moment of it! Don't let the important things in life pass you by (President Monson). Happy Mother's Day!

One More Thing To Cross Off My List

I once made a list of 100 things I wanted to do before I die (as an assignment in a class.) One of those things was to meet the Prophet. I went to BYU Women's Conference last weekend and the closing speaker was President Monson. My camera is broken so this is the best photo I got from my cell phone. He is the one directly in the middle of the picture, walking onto the stage. I think this is the closest I will get to meeting him but I will count it as accomplished and cross it off my list. It was neat to be in the same room with him.

Funny Picture of the Day

Last night while I got ready for bed, Wylie crawled under the covers and went to sleep. When I came in to get into bed this is how I found him--sprawled out on his back with his hind legs sticking out of the covers!!
